Wedding Favors That Go Down A Treat

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Emily Tanner Long gone are the days of brides only offering her guests sugared almonds as wedding favors! Now, with the wide selection of sweets available, you can choose edible favors that are as individual as you are. Whether you want chocolate buttons, sugared balls, Fruitini jellies, foiled chocolate hearts or mini heart dragees, the world is your candy store! Of course, if it’s sugared almonds you are after, then your choice needn’t be limited. You can still purchase the original peach, blue, white, pink and ivory almonds, but in addition you can buy pearlised sugared almonds, gold and silver sugared almonds, Smeraldina sugared almonds and chocolate covered sugared almonds. Yet, as trends change, wedding favors are brought kicking and screaming into the twenty-first century to keep up with current fashions. And, although many brides wish to maintain a traditional feel to their big day opting for bomboniere nets, many are looking for alternative ideas to really give their guests something to talk about. There are so many nut allergy sufferers about too, that couples are heading towards other yummy treats! The foiled chocolate heart is always a fantastic choice as it suggests the idea of romance. Originally given as Valentine’s Day gifts, foiled chocolate hearts are a tasty alternative to sugared almonds. They can be purchased in a range of metallic foils from lilac to red, pink to silver so that they can tie in with any color theme you may choose. Foiled chocolate hearts look great if placed singularly at place settings, presented in a co-ordinating organza bag or favor box or maybe used as a table scatter. Consider of course, the time of year that you wish to tie the knot. No guest will be impressed with melted foiled chocolate hearts at an hot summer August wedding! Equally, chocolate buttons go down a storm at weddings. They really give the feel of ‘being young again.’ These too come in a huge range of different colors to complement your theme and look great used as a table scatter. Alternatively, chocolate buttons could be presented in tall ice cream glasses or large glass vases and presented as a centrepiece or table decoration. These could create the idea of indulgence yet maintain a light-hearted fun theme at the same time. If you are not a major chocolate fan, or you are concerned about the heat melting your chocolate favors, you could go for sugared balls or Fruitini jellies. Again, these look fantastic when presented in tall vases or ice cream glasses. If you want to create a gentle fairytale effect, go for Fruitini jellies in pastel shades. Fruitini jellies finish off any table beautifully, especially if it’s a garden party wedding with bundles of baby pink flowers - how sweet! The sugared balls give a wedding a more modern feel with their metallic finish. These look great on tables for an evening reception, perhaps with lots of candles to reflect their stunning colors. Whether it’s Fruitini jellies, sugared balls, foiled chocolate hearts or chocolate buttons, there really is a sweet out there that is as individual as you are. Go on, be daring and try something different for your wedding day! Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Scott Patterson Here’s a tip that’s not for the weak of heart… During your dating life, you’ll be going out with a variety of women. In fact, your goal is to establish yourself as a higher status guy who provides women with fun experiences. In order to do this, you have to show her that she should value the time that you spend together. The best way to establish this is try this technique After you’ve gone on few dates with a woman, you’ve probably built up enough attraction and chemistry. Now if you REALLY want to build up heightened levels of attraction, then you should do this: Break your third or fourth date! Although this technique might seem counterintuitive, I can tell you purposefully breaking a date is a great way to increase her level of interest in you. Here’s why… According to the ‘Scarcity Principle’, taking something away from a person will make them more interested. Breaking a follow-up date does the same thing with a woman. It makes her wonder if you’re REALLY interested in her. By sowing a little bit of doubt, she’ll try to work harder for your affections. Just remember a few things about this technique: Breaking a date can be a slightly disrespectful way to treat a woman. So if you decide to follow my advice, then recommend that you follow these 3 simple rules: 1) Cancel NO LATER then two days before the date. That way, she can make other plans. 2) Tell her that you can’t make it today, but you still want to go out on another day 3) DON’T go out to a public place where you might be caught by her. If you break a date, then go out with your buddies to a local bar you’ll might risk bumping into her Breaking a date is a sneaky thing to do to a woman. But if you’re interesting in establishing higher status, then I would recommend trying it one time. Want to learn 50 different ways for meeting, approaching and attracting women? Balanced Diets for Natural Weight Control

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Stephen Todd There are many balanced diets and one is not necessarily better than another. Here you will find general guidelines on how balanced diets are constructed. The advantage of balanced diets is that they allow you to maintain weight control naturally rather than having to resort to fad or crash diets. What are Balanced Diets? Most nutrition professionals agree that balanced diets are based on three basic concepts: 1. Balance Most health professionals recommend a diet consisting of a balance as follows: Carbohydrate: 55-65% Protein: 10-15% Fats Up to 30% 2. Moderation Many dieting programs are successful simply because they are very good at helping people learn to plan their food portion size - as the feeling of fullness in the stomach can take as long as twenty minutes to register to the brain. Moderation, therefore, involves learning the difference between hunger satisfaction and fullness. Generally the accepted norm is that meals should be at least 3 - 5 times a day and this will have the affect of decreasing hunger pangs and the need to over eat. 3. Variation All healthy diets involve the inclusion of several food-types. The primary reason for this is by including a wide-variety of foods, you increase your chances of obtaining the required amounts of essential nutrients. It is a well-known fact that vitamin and mineral composition is food-specific, so you need to eat a wide variety of foods to get all the essential nutrients for overall health and vitality. Variation also helps to avoid food-boredom, and allows you to enjoy a variety of different foods. The Composition of a Balanced Diet: . Fruit and Vegetables Eating healthily means at least 5 portions a day - this includes frozen, canned, dried and pure juices as well as fresh. Also included in this group are beans, including baked beans, pulses and lentils. Bread, Cereals, and Potatoes In this group you should also aim for 5 portions daily. This group includes breakfast cereals, pasta, rice, noodles, oats, bread and potatoes. You should aim to include at least one food from this group at each meal. Dairy Foods In this group, 2-3 servings daily is the recommended healthy eating level. Milk, cheese, yogurt are examples of foods to be included, but go easy on butter, eggs and cream. Meat, Fish, and Alternatives In this group aim for 2-3 servings daily. This group includes eggs, poultry, meat and fish products such as beef burgers and fishcakes. Some of these products can be high in fat - so you should choose lower fat versions of products, and trim fat from meat and poultry. Alternatives are non-meat sources of protein such as nuts, tofu, mycoprotein, textured vegetable protein and kidney beans. Foods Containing Fat, and Foods Containing Sugar Eat these in small quantities only. These are foods high in fat and/or sugar. Butter, mayonnaise, cream, crisps and fried foods are high in fat. Carbonated soft drinks, sweets and jam are high in sugar.Cakes, chocolate, biscuits, pastries and ice cream are high in both fat and sugar. It is essential to include a small amount of fat in your diet, but the emphasis should be on unsaturated fats, for example: Olive, sunflower and corn oil an oily fish rather than saturated fats which tends to be found in animal products, cakes and biscuits. Balanced Diets and Sensible Weight Control These are the basics - it is then up to you to tailor the diet to your specific needs. Balanced diets can be different, and following the principles above can make eating a pleasure rather than a chore. Four Simple Ways to Cut Your Trade Show Marketing Budget in Half

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Mitch Tarr Many times when a trade show is planned for there isnt someone who watches the budget and tracks where the money goes. But, if you do want to know where your trade show marketing dollar goes and want to do better, this article is for you. You should track each expense and when you show is over hold a quick review to discover how much you spent. You might be surprised at how things add up. Here are four simple ways to make your trade show marketing budget count. If you can reduce your show spending a losing show might suddenly be worthwhile. 1. Track your deadlines and discounts. Look at your show agreement and see where you get discounts for making early commitments. A better way to look at this is the premium you pay for not being well planned. Youll see a deadline and a price before the date and an increased price after the date. Youll see yet a higher premium for getting a service on the day of the show. Keep good records of the discount deadlines and dont miss any. That will ensure you minimize your surcharges. Keep special track of your shipping costs and ensure you have time to ship ground and still make your setup deadline. Good planning will really be worth your while and can save you easily 25% 2. Review your booth size. As your company grows its trade show strategy you may be tempted to move up to a larger booth. You may even be tempted to take the show discount (see point number 1) and take a bigger space next year. Event managers will encourage you to do this but beware! Take a look at your show results. Then consider what happens if you had two times more space. Would you get twice the traffic to the booth? Would there two times as many qualified prospects than if you had a 10 x 10 space? If the bigger booth doesnt deliver a bigger result, you could skip the expense and focus on the marketing program instead. 3. Be ruthless on your giveaway budget. Show giveaways can really eat up a show budget is short order. Often you will be focused on the item selection and not the role the item plays in your sales process. Consider the difference in cost between a thousand items you give freely to people passing by your booth and the cost of an item given to your top one hundred prospects. By focusing in on giving quality to your prospects your will remove the risk of overspending on your giveaway budget. Make it pay. 4. Skip the expensive brochure or handout. One common error is to simply bring along a large quantity of your current color brochure stock. There will be no loss of people willing to take a $4.00 brochure from your hand as they walk by. You see, they are being polite. What happens if you meet a thousand polite people? Keep your corporate brochure at home and work with a small product brochure or a custom postcard with a show special and a reason for them to keep it after the show.(Custom access to a website or a product discount works pretty well) Youll spend less and get better results. Bonus tip. Review your shows. If you attend more than one show in a year, list your shows, (with your results) and look really hard at the lowest performer. Its possible that the show may not be as relevant but you stay in regardless. If you are not getting the results from the show, you can let it go. Youre not giving anything up. Spend your time to replace this show with another, more targeted, higher performing show or just use this trade show marketing money on another marketing project. None of these concepts are revolutionary or will change the face of trade show marketing. You will however do better by demanding a better accounting of your trade show dollar. Ultimate Vegas Wedding Cake for Your Vegas Themed Wedding

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Rich Fuller Las Vegas themed weddings and receptions are nearly as popular as actually heading of to the Vegas sunshine for the real thing. People just love the idea of the Las Vegas wedding and they emulate the experience all over the country. They dress themselves up in Vegas costumes or they decorate their reception hall in the attire of the Vegas strip and settle in for a great party. But what kind of a wedding cake goes with a Las Vegas themed wedding reception? There are innumerable possibilities for the wedding cake, of course and it should reflect more than just the wedding theme. A wedding cake is more than just cake. It is a work of art that reflects the style of the couple. A couple who decides on a Vegas theme for their wedding and goes all out with their costumes and decoration may be inclined to include an outrageous wedding cake in their fun. They might opt for something crazy like an Elvis cake for example. Another couple may choose to reflect the glamour of Vegas in their cake with lots of sparkle and show. More than just a Las Vegas wedding cake bakery can make these though. Many couples who love the idea of the Las Vegas theme for their wedding may not want anything of the sort. They may prefer to have a lovely traditional wedding cake at their reception instead. Just because the theme is Vegas does not mean that every bit of the event represents something from that city. A traditional Las Vegas wedding cake bakery wedding cake may be something that the couple would prefer in their photos and in their memories even though everything else is Vegas. Like every other part of the wedding ceremony and reception, the Las Vegas wedding cake bakery decision is a very personal one that can also be quite emotional. For couples who are more interested in the fun side of their event may be excited (an even emotional) about a great Elvis cake while other couples just dont want the Las Vegas wedding cake bakery to go that far. If you are planning on a Vegas themed wedding, speak with your caterer or wedding cake bakery about it. They may have some fantastic ideas for you no matter which way you go. Maybe they are the foremost decorator of Vegas cakes in your state and will have some fantastic ideas. Maybe you skip that bakery and talk to your traditional cake maker as your Las Vegas wedding cake bakery. Either way, make sure you are eating the cake you want most at your wedding reception. Fabric Displays for Trade Shows

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Ron Adler Pop-up fabric displays have become increasingly popular among trade show exhibitors, as they solve several issues that exhibitors used to face at a trade show. Innovations in the processes used to print on fabrics have progressed rapidly, allowing vivid, high-quality photographic images to be printed directly on a variety of fabrics. This technology progression has given way to display manufacturers to create lightweight, easy-to-assemble frames for not only quick installation, but real visual impact. The Problem Not so long ago, even a small 8- or 10-foot exhibit booth would ship to a show in several large boxes. If you were lucky, they would all arrive safely and be in your space in time for the show. However, if you did enough shows, you were bound to encounter the nightmare of having a box or two disappear somewhere in the convention center or heaven forbid in an airport sending you on a frantic race to locate them. Once you had all of your boxes, you and at least one other person were necessary to assemble the booth. Although pop-up frames have been around for quite some time, most pop-up booths have, until recently, featured heavy vinyl graphic panels and carpeted panels. Not a terribly time-consuming or difficult assembly, but as with any product, it could be improved. In addition to the bulk and multi-person installation requirement of carpeted pop-up booths, changing graphic panels is an expensive proposition. Panels are generally 6- to 8-feet high, and 2- to 3-feet wide and printed on heavy vinyl. They are then backed with magnetic strips and grooves for hanging. The typical cost for one panel is around $600 (??). If your booth was a full graphic (4 panels), your cost for updating it was therefore around $2400. Not terrible, but not necessarily something you’d opt to do frequently. The Solution Take the concept of the pop-up frame and add the lightweight nature of Lycra-type fabrics, and you have the pop-up fabric display. Because of the weight and flexibility of the fabric, these displays generally fold down and fit into just one case some even come in cases you can literally throw over your shoulder. If your show is local, you can literally place the case in your trunk and be on your way. If it’s out of town, you will probably still need to check the case as luggage at the airport, but the chances of misplacing one case vs. several cases is significantly reduced. Additionally, the advances in printing process and equipment has enabled the industry to lower the cost of booth graphics by using fabric instead of heavy vinyl panels. Costs to replace fabric panels are far less than vinyl panels, and it is even possible to use fabric panels on your old booth. To find out, contact your local trade show booth vendor, or go to AdlerDisplay.com for information. How They Can Maximize Your Budget One fabric display frame can be purchased, along with several different fabric panels. Instead of purchasing several different booths for different shows, different audiences, different products or marketing messages, you simply purchase different fabric panels. Fabric display panels cost less than the older vinyl graphic panels to produce as well, and are far less expensive to ship. They last longer, too, as they will not get permanently bent or creased. Achieve A Better Tan By Acknowledging That Tanning Bed Lotion Creams Are A Must For All Skin Types

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

By Tim Gorman If you’re going to be using a tanning bed, then you also need to buy yourself some tanning bed lotion cream. There are several available, and most of them use tyrosine as a main ingredient. Tyrosine is a type of amino acid, and its main function is to stimulate the production of melanin. Melanin is the pigment that is responsible for the color of your skin. Manufacturers often include Vitamin E as an ingredient in their tanning bed lotions, because of its well-known antioxidant properties. Vitamin E is helpful, because it’s very good at reducing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. Copper is another popular ingredient. If you have scars or other tiny blemishes on your skin, then choose a tanning lotion that contains copper. It won’t remove them, but it certainly does a good job of reducing their harshness. There’s one ingredient which is included in all tanning bed lotions in large amounts - moisturizer. This has two purposes. Firstly, it helps make the lotion easy to apply, which helps ensure you get a uniform tan. Moisturizer also nourishes the skin, and helps stop it getting dry or chapped. It also to some extent helps to screen the skin from the damaging effects of the ultraviolet rays produced by the tanning bed. If the moisturizer is based on natural ingredients such as hempseed oil or aloe vera, it will help to keep the skin supple. It’s important to choose your tanning lotion or cream based on the type of skin you have. Choosing the right cream means you’ll receive the maximum benefit from using it. You also need to think about what kind of tanning you want. Do you want a quick tan? In that case you might want to buy a lotion that is said to contain a tan accelerator. Other creams are also more suited to replacing the skin moisture lost in the tanning process. Others are mainly geared towards protecting your from the ultraviolet rays. The smell of the cream or lotion is also important. Just because you love the smell of cappuccino, someone else might hate it! Popular varieties include cappuccino, chocolate and lime pie. To use the creams as effectively as possible, apply them liberally, and then spread them gently until you have an even coverage that blends with the skin. Auto Loans

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Thomas_Morva]Thomas Morva Auto loans help people to afford transportation that they might not have if they could not borrow money to purchase an automobile. Before you decide on an automobile, you should do a lot of research about the type of financing available so that you get the most car for your money. Start by requesting a copy of your credit report, because the better your credit rating is, the less interest charges you will pay on loan. It will also determine how much money you are qualified to borrow. If you see errors on your credit report, make sure they are corrected before you apply for credit. Otherwise, you could lose hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in financing. It is always better to finance through a bank or credit union. Car dealers do offer financing, but the rates on auto loan financing can be a percent or more higher than a financial institution. And, if you finance through the auto dealership, you may be paying more for the car than its worth. The cost of the vehicle can be hidden in the financing transaction. Know what you are buying, and dont let a slick salesperson talk you in to anything more than you can afford. Also, know what the interest rates are and dont settle for anything but the going lowest rates, especially if you have excellent credit. You can go on the Internet to check the rates of hundreds of lenders, and many places will respond to your request immediately. The Power of High Voltage Marketing

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Randy Siegel Persuasion, seduction, negotiation, and fear have lost their effectiveness to clinch the deal, close the sale, and make cash registers ring. Whiter, brighter, faster, and better — while intriguing - no longer motivate consumers to act. Todays savvy marketers are shifting strategies to more strongly connect with customers; they are harnessing the power of the four Ps of high voltage communications — personhood, purpose, persona, and presence — to promote their products, services, issues, and organizations. Sick of the impersonal quality of much of their daily lives, Americans are seeking to reconnect and build stronger relationships. In all walks of life, we see a trend toward wanting to convert impersonal transactions into personal relations, reports famed futurist Daniel Yankelovich. Connection, or the feeling of belonging, is one of the top three human needs, according to psychologist Abraham Maslow, after physical needs. In our well-fed society, almost all of our physiological and safety needs are being met, but for many the need for connection is not, and smart businesses are responding. The image of business today is being altered, says futurist Faith Popcorn in her bestselling book Clicking. (Business will be) no longer seen as a war to be won by trouncing the competition, but viewed as a complicated mosaic to be developed, one relationship at a time. Sharp marketers forge stronger connections with their constituents by building deeper relationships that result in trust, and this trust is built on the four Ps of high voltage communications. Personhood: Personhood requires companies to be self-aware, self-accepting, and self-disclosing. In order to be self-aware and accepting, many marketers use a tool called gap analysis. During a gap analysis, research is conducted to determine if a companys current reputation matches its desired one: if it doesnt, further research is required to find out why. If its because of consumers perceptions, marketers know they must do a better job of promoting, and if its a real problem, they understand changes must be made. Personhood also requires being authentic and after too many recent corporate scandals, being authentic has never been so important. In the current environment, its time for brands to rethink their basic brand foundation and consider adding a pillar around trust. They must clarify their companys values and synchronize them with their customers values, says Ed Keller, CEO of RoperASW, one the worlds most respected market research firms. Smart marketers earn consumers trust when they are self-disclosing and/or willing to make fun of themselves. A good example is when Jaguar confronted its reputation for mechanical problems and turned its business around by promoting, We kept what you loved. The rest is history. By putting a face on a product, issue, or organization, high voltage marketers use personhood to personalize their products. But a pretty face is not enough; they are also using storytelling. The power of the story is upstaging the power of the sound bite in advertising, writes Melinda Davis in her book The New Culture of Desire: Five Radical New Strategies That Will Change Your Business and Your Life. A good story is more personal and credible than a contrived advertising slogan, and we will remember a story long after a catchy tagline has faded from our memory. Dave Thomas of Wendys, Scottie Mayfield of Mayfield Dairies, and Chryslers Lee Ioccoa are good examples of how marketers have used personhood to promote products. These CEOs are comfortable talking about themselves and are able to connect their stories to customers needs. Personalizing and storytelling work because they help people form emotional bonds with the company and its products. Purpose: Most companies express purpose in the form of a mission statement, and while many companies have written mission statements, few live them. Many mission statements boast noble virtues, principles, and intentions, but its really profits that steer the corporate ship, and constituents know it.Smart companies realize that when they put employees, customers, and society first, profits follow. By creating excellent work environments, they attract the best employees, and consumers will choose them over competitors if they offer hiqh-quality products and excellent service at a good price, and if they are socially responsible. The last few years have seen an explosion in the field of corporate social responsibility. Today, almost all big companies have specific guidelines on social responsibility and are consciously engaged in efforts to give back to society. Some call marketing with purpose cause branding, and one of the countrys leading experts on cause branding is Carol Cone, president of Boston-based Cone, Inc. As cause branding continues to evolve, so too will the publics expectations about the role companies play in addressing societal needs. In the new reality, companies must implement meaningful, substantive programs around social issues to bring their values to life, articulate their soul, and answer the question, What do you stand for? Cone says. Those that do put their money where their mission is — such as the BodyShop, Ben & Jerrys, and Patogonia are richly rewarded by consumers. Persona: Persona describes the masks we wear, or the image we assume, in order to facilitate communication. In business, we call persona branding. Branding is merely establishing a relationship, says Charlotte Beers, former head of two of advertisings most prestigous brands, Ogilvy & Mather and J. Walter Thompson. Much has been written on branding and for good reason. Without it, a product, service, issue, or organization is no different than its competition and will die. But futurist Melinda Davis predicts that the power of the brand is waning. In its place, she says consumers will come to depend on new meta-brands that are idenified with a creed, or marketplace manifesto, and not tied into one product category. Davis sites Oprah Winfrey as an example of this emerging trend. Women interested in bettering themselves turn to Oprah for advice on a wide variety of issues from what recipe to cook to the right books to read. The Oprah meta-brand is also an excellent example of high voltage marketing because it possesses all four Ps: personhood, purpose, persona, and presence. Presence: Presence refers to the way a company operates in the world including how it communicates with constituents. In the past, marketers depended primarily on one-way communication vehicles such as advertising and publicity. No longer. Consumers want a say. (They) are hoping to connect, to be heard, to be found at least, to be seen in a world that makes us feel increasingly invisible, writes Davis. Experts suggest using two-way communications vehicles such as word-of-mouth marketing, the Internet, and stronger consumer relations programs to dialog with consumers and build critical relationships. Personhood, purpose, persona, and presence are not linear, but interrelated. Each depends on the other.Personhood, purpose, persona, and presence can be pictured as the four points of a cross that is contained within a circle. Personhood is at the bottom of the cross where it grounds it; purpose is at the top. On the far left, resides persona, and on the opposite axis is presence.
