Incredible Hulk the History for a Super Hero Party

Monday, July 30th, 2007

By Gail Leino The Incredible Hulk was a super hero who gained his powers as the result of an accidental exposure to high-intensity gamma radiation. Incredible Hulk, like his alter-ego Bruce Banner, is a kind and gentle person who cares a great deal for humanity. In fact, Banner was saving the life of a young teenager who trespassed onto a bomb testing site and almost died in an explosion. Banner, saved the youth, but in the process exposed his body to an unbelievable amount of gamma rays. Bruce Banner looked the same, acted the same, and seemed to be the same. However, he later realized that during periods of stress or provocation he changed into an entirely different persona. The small, timid scientist became a seven-foot, half-ton weapon of destruction. Nothing seemed able to stop the Incredible Hulk during these tantrums of rage. The Incredible Hulk demolished cities, and overcame obstacles from coast-to-coast. The Incredible Hulks special powers include the ability to jump up to three miles at a time. He has a high resistance level to pain, disease and injuries. The Incredible Hulks skin can endure very hot and cold temperatures and is immune to all diseases currently found on Earth. All these things considered, the Incredible Hulk is able to be hurt, and he has been injured by a near-hit with a nuclear warhead. The Incredible Hulk has been both a solo crime fighter and a team player as part of a crime fighting team called The Defenders. As one of the most recognizable, and best loved Marvel super heroes of all time, the Incredible Hulk teaches lessons of being kind, caring, smart and encourages success in math and science. The Incredible Hulk has not only had his own comic book series, but he has been in several televisions series and guest starred in other super heroes comic books as well. The Incredible Hulk, with his can do attitude, makes a great party theme for any childhood get-together. Just add some Incredible Hulk party supplies, some kids with a lot of extra energy, and a patient adult or two supervising the busy day of super hero quests and everyone will have a great time. 6 Steps to a Successful Job Fair

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

By Ryan Stewart Whether you are graduating from college, returning to the work force, or contemplating a career change, career fairs have lots to offer a job seeker. Following a few basic guidelines can help you make the most of the experience and maximize some great networking opportunities. Dress as you would for a job interview. The interactions you have with prospective employers at a job fair are likely to be brief, and first impressions count. Put your best foot forward with proper attire, a smile, and a confident hand shake. Also remember your own promotional materials, and a professional looking case to hold them as well as the information you collect. Come prepared. Bring copies of your up-to-date resume, and be ready to talk about yourself. What kind of positions are you interested in? How does your previous experience relate? Decide ahead of time what skills you are going to promote, and have the evidence to back them up. Do your homework. Spend some time browsing company websites ahead of time to get a better feel for their organizations, what they have to offer, and what they are looking for. Having a good basic understanding of a company will enable you to get right to the point when you have the opportunity to ask questions in person. This will allow you to ask more useful questions, as well as make a better impression than a person who has not prepared ahead. Figure out your target. When you arrive at the job fair, take a moment to figure out where your target employers are located and have a plan for organizing your time. Too much aimless wandering will decrease your energy and make it difficult to stay focused. Network, network and network. Take advantage of opportunities to network not just with potential employers, but with other job seekers. They may be able to offer valuable information that could save you time, or open you up to possibilities you hadnt already considered. Follow up. Once you have met with an employer, get their contact information, and take some notes to remind you of points you want to follow up on, additional questions you may have thought of, and any specific recommended action. Follow up with a thank you note or email to express your appreciation and solidify your good impression. Remember, even if you do not receive a job offer immediately following your attendance at a job fair, networking is a huge and very valuable aspect of any job hunt. Take business cards to exchange with others in the interest of helping one another and broadening your contact list. A job fair is also good for keeping you in practice, refreshing your interview skills, staying on top of job trends, and more. Make the most of your opportunity to meet others, exchange information, give a positive impression of yourself, and remain open to future possibilities. Shampoo Killed my Beautiful Hair

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

By Erica Alexia Hair is everybody’s crowning glory. The previous paragraph is the sole reason as to why beauty salons and shampoo companies have become the “in thing” in the business world. They earn money by caressing vanity, the very grain that is inherent in human nature. They awe us by parading beautiful girls with long, shiny hair. They instill in us the drama, the magic, the beautiful-girl-stories of finding fame and romance by sporting soft and shiny locks. We buy these hair products. We try these salon treatments. But of course, none that is similar to those shampoo commercials ever happens to us. None ever will. But then we keep buying these products. We keep trying more salon treatments. Until we fail again. It is sad that we end up forever victims of what we believe as the “great solution.” We don’t know that what we religiously follow at the back of shampoo bottles is not really a beauty secret, but actually a deceitful commercial script to bring more business for shampoo companies. In reality, constant usage of shampoo actually diminishes the strength and the shine of the hair. But because we have so much faith, we never put the blame on these products. Instead, we use more, buy more, hope even firmer that in the long run, we still will achieve the shampoo-model-type-hair. The rationale for this is simple. Over washing the hair rids the natural oil from the scalp, thereby prodding the latter to produce more oil to compensate. This results dandruff and grease. Also there are residues from hair creams and shampoos that accumulates in the hair, making it more difficult to wash. In an article by Natalie in stretcher. com, she gave tips on how to maintain a less-costly but healthy hair: 1. When you wash your hair, lather once, not twice (like all shampoo instructions suggest!). Wash your hair and scalp thoroughly, and then rinse.Your hair might not feel “squeaky clean,” but it will be as clean as with two lathers. 2. When possible, leave your hair without washing an extra day. Try not to wash your hair every day. Your hair will become less oily over time. 3.Brush your hair and scalp every day (your grandmother was right). This will stimulate your scalp, distribute protective oils throughout your hair, and combat dandruff. 4. Unless you’ve had your hair colored or permed in the last month, do not condition the hair at your scalp. This will discourage greasiness, and it will also save you money! 5. If you want a fresh feeling but don’t want to shampoo, just run hot water over your hair in the shower. This will rinse away some of the dirt and even out your hair, so that it will look clean without having to shampoo. There we go. There are actually more less-costly but more effective fixes that we can think of than depending on instant treatments. It is never wrong to look for easier alternatives, but hey, a beautiful mane is a treasure unworthy of being gambled. Lets play it slow and sure. Beauty, after all, is not an overnight thing. How To Exponentially Increase Your Brand Awareness Part II

Tuesday, July 17th, 2007

By Daniel Toh Previously in Part I of How To Exponentially Increase Your Brand Awareness, we have witnessed that by identifying the building blocks of your business brand, knowing what your customers want by asking them directly, you will have a firm grasp of the basics to increasing your brand awareness. So lets get on with Part II! Step 4: Get Inside The Head of Your Ideal Customer Another good way to gather what your ideal customers want would be to get into the heads of your customers, and by experiencing the world that they live in.You could start by thinking about the lifestyle of your ideal customer, what are their likings, their hobbies, passion, habits, preferences and also what they dislike and hate. Better yet, you could create a personality profile of your ideal customer and write down all the likely details about them. Picture them as a whole person that you could be of service to, instead of an object or entity that you could take advantage of. Using this perspective, you would be able to reach your customers from the heart and gain even more backend profits, rather than dissatisfied one-off customers that wouldnt patronize your company again. Step 5: Empathize with the Feelings of your Customer Now its time to get emotional. Have you ever seen someone shouting for joy over their new Ipod? Or feeling over the top after test driving a Ferrari or after purchasing their new BMW? Human are and always will be emotional beings. The route to their continued loyalty and repeat customer purchase is through their heart. If you give them what they really want, or what they really needed they will remember you. Added on to that, if you kept all your promises and underpromise but overdeliver and give excellent customer service, they will be your raving fans. So what drives people emotionally? I can offer you some of the common factors that stimulates customers emotions. Growth: Does your product or service help others grow? Common example would be that by going to University, students will learn more about their specialty, to grow and become useful to the society. Contribution: Does your service or product help them contribute to their family, friends and the society? Like World Vision where you can donate a cow to a starving family in Africa, where they can use the cow as a food source. Significance: Does it bring significance? Products such as the Ipod Nano gave some people a measure over their friends, due to its style and sense of coolness Variety: Does it give options and variety? Baskin 31 Robbins became famous due to their variety of 31 flavors of ice-cream, but since has expanded to over 1000 flavors. Certainty: Does your product give customers a sense of certainty? By going to McDonalds youre nearly certain that youd get your foods fast. In like 3 minutes. Connection and Love: Does it give connection and love? Alright, thats a hard outcome to produce, so go search for it! Freedom: Does it promise you some kind of freedom? The lure of network marketing and their promises of giving you passive income, so that you will eventually gain financial freedom.By keeping in mind the needs and wants of your customers and engineering them into your product, you will definitely have a significant advantage in increasing your brand awareness, as you would touch them in their hearts and emotions first before anything else. Step 6: Create Focus Groups Focus groups are exactly what it means, to focus even deeper into the issues of customer satisfaction and customer wants. It should include customers from your targeted market and your ideal customers, and they should be rewarded generously after participating in the intensive focus groups. Valuable feedback can be obtained by doing this, although it can be very time consuming, but the depth of information given can often be astounding. The next part will show you even more advance ways to exponentially increase your brand awareness. So, dont miss out on the third part :How To Exponentially Increase Your Brand Awareness Part III For more information about Marketing and Copywriting, please visit my site at www.copymarketing.com Copyright 2007 Daniel Toh, www.copymarketing.com Daniel Toh runs a blog site entitled CopyMarketing:Writing Profitable Marketing Copies at http://www.copymarketing.com This website provides specific information on how to write profitable marketing copies. The Telecommuting Tightrope

Monday, July 16th, 2007

By Sharon Davis For many of us, telecommuting seems like the ideal situation. You wake up, shuffle over to your home office, work at your own pace. You take a break when it suits you, you end your day when you’re ready to. You can rearrange your work schedule to fit around your personal life. Or can you? What motivates most people to seek telecommuting is the need for a balance between work and play. Ironically, it’s often this desire for balance that leads people to the realization that telecommuting is not for them. Take Meg Rottman. Now the President of her own Public Relations company, StylePR, Meg once thought that telecommuting was the perfect solution. At the time, she was working as a Fashion Editor for a company located in New York. Since she was on the West Coast, and her job didn’t require her presence in an office, she felt it was a natural fit to work from home. “At first, it seemed like a great opportunity,” says Meg. “Ultimately, I found that I didn’t have ‘work time’ and ‘play time’. It morphed into just ‘time’”. “I found that there was no beginning or ending to my day. And there was no time off. I would jump out of bed in the morning with an idea and go directly to the computer. And then, often I would still be typing at 11:00 at night. It was almost like being on call. I wanted my time to be more compartmentalized”. This is a common side effect of working from home. It takes no small amount of discipline to structure your day- and stick to it. The funny thing is, having the ability to take a break and do other things in the middle of the workday is the reason many people want to telecommute in the first place. Meg realized this. “If you really schedule your day, then how can you justify taking a walk, or putting a roast in? You can’t,” she says. “Maybe you’re giving up what made working at home so great to begin with.” It wasn’t all bad though. Meg did discover some things about herself. “I really did not need supervision, I was completely self-motivated. The surprising thing was that I worked more”. Not surprising is the fact that Meg now owns her own company. “[Telecommuting] definitely gave me the feeling that I was already working for myself, so why not do that?” she says. “Yes I have to drive to my office now, but it is easier for me to separate work and home and create a more balanced life.” Sometimes, things just aren’t what you thought they’d be- and sometimes that’s a good thing. ——————————– Sharon Davis is the Mom to two girls, the owner of 2Work-At-Home.Com, Work At Home Articles.net and the Editor of the site’s monthly ezine, America’s Home.
